OOOOH, I agree he should have known better!!!!I have a time sert kit already in hand, case is not cracked just stripped out.I am reluctant to try bending this back to use with it only being a cast part. Just so we are on the same page here.The bracket DOES NOT need to be bent till it touches the case.the bracket should be vertical but not touching the case.There is a small spacer that fits between the bracket and the sump case.Somewhere along the lines of a 3 -5 mm spacer. Used steel flat washers of varying thickness on mine.Make sure whatever flavor of thread repair goes in straight and true. Use as long of a bolt as you can without bottoming.been there done that
a good fab shop should be able to mill you one out of some block aluminum.
