Cheaha Mountain Skyway, Alabama - condition?
« on: October 04, 2018, 04:33:39 PM »
Can anyone report on the pavement condition on the Cheaha Skyway through the Talladega National Forest?  I rode a section of it about 10 years ago and the surface was pretty rough - old and greyed out such that it was hard to tell if or where the surface was going to be loose and gravelly.  Other online reviews are just as outdated, and make it sound like it may not even be paved the whole way.  The one that says it was "smooth" was from the perspective of a car driver.   It looks pretty clean from Google satellite view, but first hand account would be great. :thumb:

Unless you are on a touring barge you should enjoy the roads in the area.  I haven't been through there in several years.  Cheaha is the highest point in Alabama and some great views from within the state park.
