Vespa And Guzzi go together. If you haven’t ridden a Vespa you’re missing out on a fun ride.

I ride a Honda Reflex. Friends in our little club ( http://wsscooters.com/ ) ride a Vespa and a Benelli 135. I LOVE riding my scooter. Have gone shopping at Costco with it and brought back a case of toilet paper tied to the back seat with it. 60 mpg too, and it goes highway speeds. This is a good forum for scooter riders:

And here is mine: bought new in 1987, and after 42000 miles still going strong:

Congratulations on bringing that beauty into the fold!

I was actually going to lost this question but it seems fitting to ask it here.
Why?
What is the advantage of a scooter over a motorcycle? I just don't see any.
I remember as a teenager my dad bought a Lambretta for $5 at a garage sale. I wasn't allowed to ride it. My younger brother rode it everywhere. Maybe if I had a chance on that thing I'd understand. My dad eventually threw it away because it didn't have a title.

There was a segment on a morning show yesterday about a local scooter club. There were some really nice Vespas and a couple of other brands. The top bike for me was a pristine white 160 Honda. The camera person obviously wasn't a biker kind of person as the Honda wasn't given much airtime. Shame.

I used to, but made sure no pics were taken. You have to test what you work on. Ever go over 90mph on those lil wheels?

Eighty-five.

I was trying to see if it would do the top speed the book says. It will but not w/me. I liked the bigger wheels on Aprillia's & Piaggio's.
-
A college age girl at a Guzzi Rally is bigger news than a Vespa.
-
One of my favorite of all time two wheeled vehicles was my 1980 Vespa P200E. A two stroke shifty scoot. It was in need of work when I got it but after a few weeks it ran so good. 2nd gear wheelies- maybe thats why I had to replace the clutch. One day I gps'd it at 77mph. Typically it would do 72 no problem. This on the 10" wheels. Did a lot of riding on that Vespa. 200-300 mile days were no problem, now thats not cannonball miles but man it was great fun.
One day I will own a modern Vespa, most likely a 250 or 300.

Our scooter club, the Sonoran Sunriders, was featured in a little magazine called The Scooter 'Zine ( https://thescooterzine.com ), this month. The publisher, a scooterist from Tucson, follows us on Instagram ( https://www.instagram.com/sonoransunriders/ ) and asked if he could use this pic on their back cover.

Love my Vespa. It's a different kind of riding - encourages you to go slow and look around you more / smell the roses. I will always have at least one scooter.

Progress report, on our new Vespa. Quicker than expected/ nice handling. Loads of fun!
My big challenge initially was looking for the clutch, etc.
... and getting it away from my wife.

After many years, looks like I have finally convinced my brother above about the merits of a Vespa. Unlike me, who learned to ride in the late '60s on a small frame Vespa 50 Special, he took the long way to get there.
Think of the Vespa
(https://i.ibb.co/8mtLMWm/Moto-Guzzi-Galletto.jpg) (https://ibb.co/8mtLMWm)
as the famous Guzzi Galletto with more bodywork.

Vintage 53. What dealer has that Pink Vespa? My wife has taken a liking to it so I would like to contact them. Unless you already bought it.
-
I’m looking at the possibility of fixing and owning two vespas. Time will tell...

2007 GTS250ie:
(https://i.ibb.co/nb5FTxk/IMG-8369.jpg) (https://ibb.co/PNfdRqC)
I've had this for 8 years now. I bought it for my wife, who wanted one. She still has not gotten in her motorcycle license, but, in the 8 years I've owned it, it has served me well as an grocery-getter, pit bike at the track, and "camper bike".
It is very easy to load and upload on/off my F350 tow-vehicle. I like that it has a hand-controlled rear brake, which makes controlling descent speed coming down the ramps very easy. You can't use the front brake, as the front wheel will just slide.
Being a small displacement water cooled motor, it comes up to temperature very quickly, making it far better for short trips to the grocery store, where my air-cooled Guzzi would not reach operating temp.
The under-seat storage is very convenient. I have an adapter on the rear rack to take my H&B top case that I also use on the Guzzi. I can easily carry a 5 gallon fuel can on the floor (something I can't do on a motorcycle) to go get it fulled.
It is agile and fun to ride. The ride on rough roads is way better than you'd think it would be, especially considering the relatively small 12" wheels.
-

I am so excited to see all of these vespa riders on here!
My first bike was a 2006 GT 200 that I bought used and put tons of miles on before buying my first Guzzi.
My dad rode and still owns a 1964 Vespa (allstate) back in the day and my wife rides an '08 LXV. We spent a month in Spain riding a rented one around.
They are awesome machines and always make me feel great!
