One of my favorite of all time two wheeled vehicles was my 1980 Vespa P200E. A two stroke shifty scoot. It was in need of work when I got it but after a few weeks it ran so good. 2nd gear wheelies- maybe thats why I had to replace the clutch. One day I gps'd it at 77mph. Typically it would do 72 no problem. This on the 10" wheels. Did a lot of riding on that Vespa. 200-300 mile days were no problem, now thats not cannonball miles but man it was great fun. One day I will own a modern Vespa, most likely a 250 or 300.
nothing like a bad girl on a bad scooter! extra points if you can name the girl!
Progress report, on our new Vespa. Quicker than expected/ nice handling. Loads of fun! My big challenge initially was looking for the clutch, etc. ... and getting it away from my wife.

Love my Vespa. It's a different kind of riding - encourages you to go slow and look around you more / smell the roses. I will always have at least one scooter.
In Italy, where I came from, owning a Vespa from the early riding years, is one of the gateway drugs to future Guzzi ownership.
