Seth, I might be able to make this one.  I have friends in the Denver area where Bev can visit and I could easily stay up there to ride.  Did you have a location for camping or lodging?

Temp has no noticeable effect on this one. It’s just combustion chamber pressure apparently, or vibration.

It’s light throttle at 3500rpm and more throttle makes noise at higher RPMs until it tapers off around 5500rpm.

That’s kinda where I’m at John. It runs fantastic, is smooth and it doesn’t appear to be any worse. I just kinda wish it wasn’t there…

Knowing myself I’ll probably go looking for it this winter.

I have the same noise in the RH side of my '89 Mille. Barely noticeable when cold, annoying while hot. Took the top ends off, no detectable play anywhere. Next is to shim rockers and if that doesn't work, replace both ends of rods.

I'm in Lakewood, just west of Denver. The MO-KAN rally is the 15th-17th of Sept, but otherwise the month is pretty clear. We have a small club here. Some of the guys might be interested...

Congratulations Dave

Yea , I don't think anything gets good fuel millage at 80 mph , but it's nice to have the ability on hand sometimes.
I've had the thought to clear-coat my fuel tank if I ever have it off the bike , but after having it for five years and near 40,000 miles there hasn't been a reason to pull the tank yet !

Hay , I fitted a "Memphis Shield" to my V-7II when I got it and have been pleased with it for a long time.   Any of the handlebar mount shields should work for ya.  RE has a fork mounted shield that might even be better ?

I'm glad to hear that you are mostly OK.  Hopefully she will pay more attention in the future.  Did it set her airbags off?

How sore are you today?

I don't think the airbags deployed, maybe because the BMW glanced off her front end vs. a direct head-on hit.

Already feeling a bit better - right hand is 80% functional, only the thumb is sore. No new aches and pains. Still need to go to Urgent Care a.s.a.p. for my left foot.

Dang! Glad that it wasn’t worse. Here’s to a speedy recovery.
