Made in my hometown.  Too flimsy, I've looked up close.  Better off on a motorcycle.

And annoying as can be when they are going 15 mph (actual top end) and they are so wide they are hard to pass.

They need to be licensed and restricted as to roadways (like mopeds).

Interesting........ ........if you stay on that video you get a whole view/description of the factory and how the Elfs are made by the Co. owner.  Only squatch knows if this would meet his needs.   Too bad he can't use a Piaggo 250 MP3 for the same $ and have it as real purpose transportation.   I agree it's(elf) use on public roads is questionable and I wouldn't like having to ride thru stop signs often(video) either.

There is one already on the roads around here, and it does not seem to inhibit traffic around here.
It goes 2 1/2 times faster than my electric scooter and has a roof for those days of rainshine.
The roof is a 100 watt solar panel that can recharge the battery in one day, or I can plug in a charger
like I do for my mobility scooter.  It needs no insurance, no license plate or drivers license.
Roads around here have wide shoulders for bicycle traffic,  so it is no wider than the three wheel recumbent
trike I used to have and is much more visible.  Most drivers here, at least the non tourist ones, are more considerate
of others on the road whether they are in cars, on motorcycles, or bikes, than anywhere else I have lived.
Maybe somewhat less so in Kona or Hilo, but I won't be riding it there.   Furthermore since it has bicycle assist pedals
It may give me some needed leg exercise.  I can't ride a bicycle because my feet fall off the pedals.

I have to say, given your parameters, it would be a good choice?

We had something similar back in the 8os - the Sinclair C5 (as in Sir Clive of computer fame) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_C5
 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_C5)

Good enough technology for the time but the business crashed and burned PDQ due to lack of sales

One of the issues was that it was close to the ground and needed to have a flag on the back to make sure the cages didn't drive over you

Good luck though Jim - the Elf might be perfect for you

Interesting- I've never seen a vehicle totally powered by self righteousness. My guess is that the sides are open to let out all the hot air generated.  Exactly how much do you think this revolutionary vehicle will impact East LA? My guess is that it will sell in certain up market neighborhoods where owners want to "out smug" people who drive a Prius.

this would be very entertaining on a windy day.. these kites would be blown over, lifted and tossed about like a balloon.. San Fran you could watch them fly off the bridges and float (for a moment) on the waters below. cheap entertainment.
