Don't release the item until the money order is cashed.  Once cashed you've got cash.  If it doesn't cash it was a fake and you still have your item.

   Your bank will cash a counterfeit Money order or cashiers check, hand you the money and smile then after they realize that it was fake they will pull the money out of your account.
   DO NOT release the bike until you are positive that the Money order is valid.

A postal money order is cashed at the post office.  I don't have a post office bank account so they can't dip into it.  If it's a fake and they cash it, it's on them.
