2017 V7lll Racer

Any + - comments on this bike? 2000 miles away so I can’t sit on it. Too big for it at 6’ 1” and 190? Great to look at but end up sitting in the garage?

A retired friend with vintage bikes bought one as a reliable regular rider, but after 18 months it sits in the garage with less than 1000 miles. He is 5 9" and it fits him OK.

I'm 5'11' and it fits me fine with the rear sets and low bars.  I am long torso 32 inseam. 

My Cafe Classic was a little tight with the forward lean but standard pegs.

Whether you will be comfortable is really doing to depend on you.  Your flexibility, the condition of your joints, etc.

I have same and I'm about your build, too. Nice bike, if you can get past, or change the look.
You're young, healthy & strong? Mine is 460#'s wet. 
The best part is with the Ohlins rear shocks, nice fully adjustable foot gear, add an upgrade to the frt. suspension and you have a nice bike. I also added a higher spec Brembo frt. MC & Caliper.   R3~

I've only had a short ride on the III Racer, but the Ohlins are impressively bliss inducing, it's version of the solo seat more comfortable than the usual and there was perhaps a tad more room than earlier versions. I'm 5'11"", 175lv, 32" inseam & have no trouble with the bars & rear sets on the earlier V7s - 2 & 3 hours stints, 8 to 12 hour days are not uncommon. Note that there is some adjustment in the rear sets. If you should end up feeling a little cramped, that suspension itself is worth getting some multi adjustable clips on to play with your riding comfort.

Fly & ride is recommended - I did it for the V7 Special )4,500km before I got it home) -  a banana bag over the seat hump will fit more gear than you can carry.

I really like mine.  I'm 5'10" so not sure of fit if I was taller. 

Have you seen this:  http://cycle-ergo.com/    You can compare ergonomics between different bikes ... compare the Racer to something you know.

For me, the clip ons were a bit low ... if I was riding < 2 hours, no problem, but over 2 hrs start to bother me.  So I ordered all the parts from a Stone to put a normal handlebar on it and put on a LSL speedbar on it ... don't need to change cables or brake hoses, raises the bars ~2-3".  That really worked great for me.  It cost me ~$200 to do it (that's all parts, I did it myself).

For the rear suspension ... if you have ridden some other V7 III and then tried the Racer with the Ohlins, you might say "nice" ... but for me, even with the Ohlins, I think the rear suspension is not so great.  You have less than 3" of travel and that's just not much to work with.  Not sure what other bikes you are used to, but for me, the Racer's rear suspension is the worse modern suspension I've experienced.  Other bikes I've had:  BMW F800GT, Suzuki V-Strom 650, KTM 990 SMT, Suzuki Bandit 1250.

So ... if you are set on a Moto Guzzi V7 ... the V7 iii Racer is a great one to get.
