Shift drum neutral ball
« on: April 20, 2024, 10:11:09 PM »
I've got a 74 Eldo. I had to work through the starter not working to find my neutral switch was not grounding. When I looked into the transmission to see how the copper switch would ground I expected to see a convex object; a small ball located on the shift drum. What I think I saw was a concave area that looks like it should have a small diameter sphere inserted. Is it possible that sphere has gone missing?  Neutral light is currently on full time, put it back together and went for a ride.

IIRC, that bump on the shift drum is NOT a loose ball.  Likely hammered or welded in place.  Never heard of one disappearing.  Hooray!   You might be a first!
