Great to see another Aussie online.

I bought my '21 85tt last Oct at what I felt was a very fair price.  Keep your eye out you will find one.

Thank you.  I think I found your blog online when first looking for info on the V85tt.  Nicely done, that's for sure.

Peter Stevens in Geelong had a 2020 Travel for sale a month or so back but i procrastinated, unsure if i wanted the next model with tubeless rims etc, and it sold in the meantime.  The other problem is that Peter Stevens aren't interested in running a demo of the V85 any more and I won't pay 20k for something I may or may not love, lol.  At management level, PS aren't doing Guzzi any favours at all imo.  The brand needs building by an enthusiastic distributor.  But I'm hoping that with new VVT version arriving they might put a demo on the fleet and at least then I can see if the ride position etc is suitable to my wants.

Many thanks and safe travels.

(apologies for derailing this thread!).

Little update. The previous owner called me today and is going to try and locate the key to the top case. He said he also has the stock windshield, exhaust, cat, skid plate and other bits that he'll try and send me soon. I did order a key from Mytech. The key was like $20, but the dang tariff from Italy was almost $200. Talk about robbery. I'm betting someone at that dealer sold the bags and the tuner. But whoever bought the bags....I have that key, so they probably can't get in them.

Here is another kicker, he said he indeed gave the side cases to the dealer (they said he never did) and inside them was the tuner from GTM. He said he had it tuned and it's 10-15HP more than stock and that's when the cruise stopped. I thought it felt a little punchy compared to the other TT I rode a couple times. I'm reluctant to have a dealer flash it again for the cruise as it would probably wipe out this tune that is so nice. So, I'll likely live with it as is to avoid that.

I buy things from Italy periodically and with shipping have gotten better prices than buying from a US vendor so I don't understand why there was a $200 tariff on the item you tried to buy.

Were you dealing with the general manager / owner of the shop where you bought the bike?  If not, I would personally make them aware of the fact that the bags were supposed to stay with the bike.  If nothing else, maybe it will keep someone else from going through the aggravation, but also let the GM / owner know that there should be transaction records and money in his pocket instead of an employee selling them out the back door.

Yeah, I've bought things from Agostini Mandello and other places in Europe and have never paid a tariff like that.

Oh I know and agree. I'll never buy from them again. And I'll make sure everyone knows about this. Their communication also stinks to high heaven. I'll actually be surprised if I even receive what I paid for.

The whole shop was looking for the bags. Everyone concluded the PO still had them. If I didn't get such a smoking deal on the bike, I'd have pursued that to the end of time. But, when 8 people all say the same thing, I have to take their word at it. There'd be no use talking to the GM about it. They lost money on the bike so I doubt they'd be much help either, other than saying "well, my people say they're not here"...

Let's see some pics of the Givi's. The new 24 v85's might not come with the tin cans so we need options.

I don't have any pics with all three bags.  I usually just have the top one on unless I'm going to the store for things.  I'll snap a pic In a week or so when I get back in town.

I've had a 2000 Quota, 2009 Stelvio, 2012 Stelvio. This V85 is better than all of them in my opinion. It's more fun, lighter, more nimble, handles off roading better, and the power seems to be more too. Probably the power to weight ratio.

I've had the Stelvio NTX, two V85s, and now the new Stelvio V100.  I don't really know if the V100 Stelvio will replace the V85.  The V85 is just such a sweet bike.  Although the V100 motor is more capable, it is also a heavier bike.  The V100 is more stable, but the V85 is more nimble.  Trade offs.  Anyway, congratulations on the new bike and you will love it!
