Some absolutely useless information about the Manx motor . In the repair manual the torque spec for the crankpin nut stated something like "weld a one and 1/2 inch socket to the end of a 6 foot long bar" . Read somewhere that the average Englishman in the 1950s weighed 150 LBs , meaning the torque spec was 900 lbs feet Dusty

I always used the straw, TDC and a piece of cigarette tissue in the points with the lever on full retard on mine. Seemed to work. <shrug>
And a matchbook was used to set the gap.
