Title: V7III Dislay format
Post by: Kiwi_Roy on April 10, 2024, 06:07:15 PM
Hi Guys,
I'm trying to remember how to change the display on my V7III Special?
I want to set the clock, at the moment its displaying 0:00 not the time
I also want to change the fuel consumption display from MPG to L/100 Km
I know how to select the display using Mode button but I've forgotten how to configure it.
Any help would be much appreciated, the manual is short on details

Cheers
Kiwi Roy

Cycle through the menu until you come to clock. Then hold the menu button down until the hour space starts to flash. Push the mode button until you come to the correct hour. Release and then push again to set, then the minutes space should start to flash. Do the same thing until you get to the correct minute. Do the same for the minutes as you did for the hour. Should be good to go. I won't swear that this is 100% correct but it is close and will get you there. I just did mine a couple of days ago. I think a toggle for 12 or 24 ht format came in somewhere. Anyway this should get you in the ballpark and some fiddling will get it done. Miles or KM should be similar, I haven't had to change that so I am am not sure how that is done but there should be something in the menu to switch between goofy and metric using a similar procedure.

Thanks, for that Moparnut72
I installed a new battery a couple of weeks ago, loss of power reset the display to default.
The Mode and Menu button are one and the same
for example the actual time is 10:15
Press Mode/Menu 9 times to get to "Clock" display, press and hold until the Hour starts flashing then give it 10 quick jabs, Press and hold until the minutes start flashing, 15 quick jabs, press and Hold to set, the next press takes you to the next Menu item (allows setting the ABS using the Start button)
The next press brings you back to normal Odometer display "Odometer"

I still haven't figured out how to go from MPG to L/100km.

This is straight from the owners manual:

Quote
Instrument cluster configuration
In the "TOTAL ODOMETER (ODOMETER)" mode, long press the "MODE" button to access advanced functions including:
1) Gear shift threshold (SET GEAR SHIFT)
2) Change odometer unit of measurement (SELECT UNIT (mi/Km))
3) Change mileage gages unit of measurement (SELECT UNIT (US mpg - IMP mpg - L/100 - Km/L))
4) Change thermometer unit of measurement (SET UNIT °F - °C)

Select unit (mi/Km) "Change odometer unit of measurement"
Within this function you can change the unit of measurement to "mi or Km" by short pressing the "MODE" button. The change affects all the instrument panel settings which use these units of measurement.

Select unit (US mpg - IMP mpg - L/100 - Km/L) "Change mileage gages unit of measurement”
Within this function you can change the unit of measurement to "US mpg - IMP mpg - L/100 - Km/L" by short pressing the "MODE" button. The change affects all the instrument panel settings which use these units of measurement.

You can do that from the odometer screen.
