Loose Pushrod Ends
« on: December 04, 2021, 03:23:55 PM »
Is it possible to fix a loose (upper) pusrod end or should I replace the pushrod? First loose one I've found in 35 years...

My impression is no

Some have JB Welded one while running across country and arrived, but it was a rescue not a fix

Can't imagine Loctite RC-680 wouldn't bond the end permanently in place as long as the end could be removed and the mating surfaces thoroughly cleaned.

The ends can be re swaged if you find a race car engine shop that makes their own pushrods and is willing. Walt Austin racing in Seattle is one. They could punch out new ones too.

True, but a free pushrod from a member is a heck of a lot more money-conscious.  I probably have a spare one as well (Tonti) if anyone needs one.  No guarantee as to condition.
