50TH ANNUAL MGNOC NATIONAL RALLY JOHN DAY OREGON
With great excitement, the National Rally will be hosted by West Coast MGNOC Moto Guzzi Clubs: Washington, Oregon, California. Location is at Grant County Fairgrounds, John Day, Oregon, while the fare will be great food, fantastic riding, and plenty of entertainment options. John Day was the site of both the 2010 and 2016 Nationals.

Those of you who were there know of John Day's magnificent scenery and you know it offers stellar riding on twisty, wide-open roads through river valleys rising into pine-timbered hills. Entertainment options to includes: field games, bike show, beer/wine tent, evening fire pit, a movie, fantastic raffle prizes, 50/50 drawing, curated rides, tech/history seminars put on by names you will recognize, and a worthy closing ceremony Saturday night. Rally fee will be $100 per person if paid before June 1 and $125 per person from June 1 to the day of the event.

Rally fee includes three nights camping at the fairgrounds, supper Friday and Saturday, with more to be added as we move along. Please make checks payable to Gayle Guthrie, 13020 Occidental Avenue South, Burien, WA 98168. RV sites and early camping are also available through the fairgrounds for a reasonable fee. There's a selection of motels in the area offering a third option for those who don't want to camp. Likely, RV sites and motels will book quickly; so, if you need one, best to book soon. I might go.  I might ride out from tennessee with a buddy who will be riding his ural and side car to the BMW rally the second week of June in Redmond Oregon.  Hmmm???  This might work!!

Right.  We might goof off for a couple of weeks in between rally’s and go to both! Still thinking about it as that’s a long time with nothing really to do.  Hmmm????

Yep.  My friend says it will take him six days to go 2400 miles on his ural/sidecar.  He takes backroads.  Il just tag along if we go on my v7 850 centenario!

Ural eh?  I have an 850T-ural sidecar rig.  I've never done 400 mile days on it though only 100 mile days.   For me it would only be two 300 mile days from Folsom, Ca by the scenic route I take.

It would be a nice adventure for my 70th.  All I have to do is to get well-healed by then.  Heck I even have a 2016 John Day t-shirt from last time.

Dats 'da place.  There was a Moto Guzzi demo fleet there not sure if it was the importer's, most likely yes because it had AZ plates on the bikes.  Loads of fun.    Bring your shower slippers if you're camping.  It does get cooler at night.  The town's people are friendly to the rally participants.  I gotta go the Legion Post and see how cheap the drinks are.

Average 500 miles/day not on interstates, do some sightseeing and ride some great motorcycle roads along the way.  It would be a great unforgettable trip!
