My V7's Been Buco'd
« on: September 09, 2016, 05:56:23 PM »
I've always loved the look of Buco Twinmaster saddlebags.  So I bought a set of re-pops and had them painted.  They are hung on my existing HB C-Bow mounts.  I bought the brackets and bolted them to the inner side of each bag.  Easy on and off.  I'm very happy with the results, and my painter matched the paint perfectly.  He even coated the insides with bed liner.  Retro classic!

That looks VERY nice!   Never would have come up with that idea myself, but I'm glad you did!

They look perfect on /2, /3, or /5! I've got them on my /5. OP, how do you like the quality of them? I ordered a set of repo lenses for my original Bucos, and they are VERY thin compared to the originals, though they've held up fine so far.

DAMN, but that is nice. Re-pops...reproductions?
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Yes.  Extremely rare to find a usable original set.

Am I the only one who thinks the look like the are mounted too high and the ass end of the bag needs lowered to make them look level?
Either way the Buco's are looking good on the V7!

Me, I like the "old" bag shape combined with a modern "sport-touring" sort of hang for the bags.

The old bikes went for the low, sort of tail-dragger look; I don't think that would quite do for this one, especially with the pipe on it.

I think those look great. I wonder how they would look on a Galletto scooter?

They are mounted as low as the brackets would allow.  Perspective is a little off as I put the bike on the center stand.

When looking at the R/H side of the bike they look better.
PS love the Grey V7's they just look clean.

I like the way the fairing and the bags balance each other out.

Cam, if you have a chance I'd love to see some more pictures from the rear and the front 3/4 views.

Bluemoon Cycles sells them on ebay. Search "Buco Saddlebags"

Here are a couple other photos as requested.

Harper's "Sport Fairing".  Don't know if they sell them anymore. I found a lightly used white one (someone here) and had it painted.

Couple other angles taken from today's ride.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Quality is surprisingly good. Like you said, lenses are a little thin but time will tell.  Glass is solid (but they're light weight), and locks, metal bits are nice.  Painter took out any tiny imperfections with primer and sanding.

My originals are still in their original white gelcoat. I'd like to paint them some day, but not now. The original finish is not great, lots of glass texture, and I would call them rugged enough, but not by a large margin. I guess what I'm saying is that the repos don't need to be that great to be at least as good as the originals. They look nice on your Guzzi, good choice!
