Must it be one or the other?  May we not indulge (literally) in the best of both worlds?  <pipe smoking, philosophic emoticon>

Nope, not the only one. I check in every day, dont do Facebook at all. Couple of other motorcycle forums and a couple of other subject related forums. Post here more than anywhere else, which is not much at all. I ride mostly alone, work mostly alone. Got church. Got family. Got my dog. Works for me.

I have been involved in information security and privacy work for some 30+ years now. I am only present on one social media platform, and that's LinkedIn - because to be successful in my filed you have to be there. I recommend to friends, family, and my clients that they severely limit their participation in social media networks.

FB is to check on those with whom I connect by blood. WG is to check on those with whom I connect by oil.

What kind of oil ?
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

I closed my facebook account a few years ago. Total waste of time, and chock full of hypocritical , acting like I care BS .WG, I go on 2-3 times a day. Best entertainment/ information source I have found ,ever. There is always some one here that has good, or at least well intentioned knowledge to share on almost any subject....from steel cut oats, to smart legal advice, and even  a little bit about Guzzis....Its all here, all one has to do is ask! The politeness, and mutual respect shared in this forum, is exemplary!
Appreciation, love, and respect. to Luap, Mrs Luap,  the moderators, and all the members!
Rick.

I use Facebook only with family. I added my phone no for benefit of more distant relations. I got supposedly targeted adds from scammers who were given my phone no thru Facebook. That and the fake news and the politics. I just hope that particular app ends up as a fad or a phase like space hoppers, tamagochi and the millenium bug. If in 2030 people say remember Facebook I'd see that as a good thing.

No Facebook for me.  Work is always sending out warnings about Facebook.

I wish this forum had a like feature though.  Sometimes I just want to like a post instead of making a post saying that I like a post.

I find the discussions here to be generally more intelligent than on FB. But the folks here who want to fix their Guzzi's "breaks" instead of brakes often test that theory for me.
yeah, I might be addicted to brake fluid. But I can stop any time I want.

I see more pictures of Moto Guzzis on Facebook than I do here, so there’s that. You just have to like or belong to the right group, like the Moto Guzzi National Owners Club.
