New Conti Road Attack 4 Doesn't Come in 18" (V7 size)
« on: November 21, 2022, 02:02:43 PM »
It looks like the new Conti RA4, which is getting great reviews, doesn't come in an 18".  Of course the RA3's are the only radial that comes in V7 sizes. Should I purchase a set of 3's a few months early, or are there other quality options?

BTW, I've already emailed Continental about making RA4's in V7 sizes.  Hopefully a few others out there can do the same.

I thought the 3's were a huge improvement.

Buy the RA3s. They will be a giant step up from any Bias ply tire.  :thumb:

As mentioned above the RA 3s are fine.

Sounds like I should throw money at some RA3's soon.  Don't know much longer they'll be available with RA4's around.

I love the 3s on my V7III. Got 7,100 out of the rear as well. Just put a new one on.

I'm another fan of the RA 3.

I just replaced a set of Bridgestone BT46 tires with new Contis.  The BT 46 is a very good tire but, at least on my V7III, the RA 3 is at least as good with the benefits of longer tread life and, in some situations, slightly better ride comfort.

Availability comes and goes so if you find a pair it would be smart to snap them up.

Pretty sure any quality tire on a Guzzi will be more than a match for the suspension/frame/etc.. I like my RA-3 because it's miles ahead of Sport Demon in many areas.. I actually like my Stornello with Stock Rear Golden Tire GT-201 and Pirelli MT-60 RS combo over the RA-3.. Main thing quality tires will work from almost any good tire Manufacturer The Conti RA-3 are made in Germany too.

.     Either front and this rear work great. Much less $ than RA3 50%. More life than the bias   Note T31 is now a 32

I too am a fan of Ra3’s . I do try to get them with a ZR speed rating . The higher speed rating “usually “ results in a better quality tire & requires less weight to balance . I’m certainly no road racer , but the small price difference is still cheaper than plaster of paris !

After seeing first hand how mmranch rides his V7 and hasn't lost traction, I went with the same Shinko on the rear.  A little larger diameter overall which helps turn in and brings speedo closer to reality.
