Looks to me like a young opossum that's lost some or all of its tail, which is considered a non-releasable rehab because they need their tail to have the best chance of surviving in the wild.  They carry bedding materials with their tail and use it for stability while climbing.   The last opossum we had did not have a tail. The one we have now (in the other room) does.

On this Thanksgiving, I'm thankful that you live far enough away from us so that we wouldn't "need" to set a trap it catch it and place it with a rehabber.....

Some of the boars get big, but they normally don't travel as fast or stand as tall as the younger thinner ones.

My wife does opossums like  I do bikes.  Except she's inspected, selected, detected and formally protected by her USDA registration, etc etc and so are the possums she keeps.  The new area federal agent came by to visit/inspect the facility and our current opossum Mimi about 3 wks ago.

Gait, feet, surely opossum.  Sorry about the tail.  Life is tough out there in the wild.

Last night we had a fox which is not rare,

I got good video of the fox family a few years ago on 4th of July. Warning , it's 16 minutes long.

Hi Foto,                                                                                         11-26-21

Looks like a woodchuck (ground hog).  I have one living under my front porch.

Be well, stay well,
DougG
A possum playing possum is no big deal.  Find one that can play giraffe, now you got yourself something!

I think it is a woodchuck . Some look like they could be thirty pounds and I see them at night sometimes when I’m out for a ride. They usually don’t dart out but can move quickly if startled .

Foto maybe some are nocturnal, but neighbors trail cam confirms several late nite visits to my garden by local woodchuck/groundhog. But I haven’t seen any in the winter. You may have a mutant variation how close to the nuclear power plant do you live?

I'm still on with opossum for this guy and sorry about his lost tail.

First, when in a hurry, a groundhog or woodchuck (Marmota monax) will run or have a gallop gait like a horse.  Two legs at at time.  Watch the squirrels in your local park.  The woodchuck is just a big squirrel.  The opossum (Didelphis virginiana) however almost never runs under any circumstance.  They have a waddling, walking gait just like this one.

Second, a groundhog or woodchuck has feet that are black or brown, covered in fur, and blended directly with its leg fur.  The opossum has distinct white or fleshy naked toes in contrast with its feet.  There are several brief moments in this video where you can see the light-colored feet, especially left front.

The opossum appears very fierce with a long, gaping mouth and many teeth.  They very seldom bite and it is not a particularly strong, crushing bite.  Its just the hissing and gaping that are so fierce.  Watch this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpGwt_baExk
or this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USg_QsCfNmk

What you need to know is that scientific genus name, Didelphis.  Derived from Greek.  "Didelphis" means 'two vaginas' because that is how the female anatomy is shaped.  Actually, one bifurcated vagina.  I'll let you guess what the male has for sexual compatibility.

Groundhogs have a beaver-like tail. More likely to be a opossum without a tail than a groundhog without a tail.
