'Hurt' by Johnny Cash. The original version by Nine Inch Nails was good but the cover blew it out of the water.

Spiderbait does a pretty cool cover of Ram Jam's "Black Betty".  Lots of cool covers out there!

Black betty was done waaaaay before Ram Jam.

This is my favorite of theirs (so far): https://youtu.be/mYPfmOhua3o

That's the link you posted in another thread which introduced me to them, so thanks for that.  Interesting thing about that particular song, she CAN sing and she IS pretty.  Legs might be a bit on the thin side, though.

Indeed!  :thumb:

One more comes to my mind:
'Warning' by Black Sabbath: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhMzFv_1tmU

It's really hard to pick just one favourite, but that one is certainly at the top.

Cheers,
D.

The Twangbangers' version of "Hot Rod Lincoln".  When they are passing cars going up Grapevine hill, they reference a different music icon pulling over to let them by.  From Pee Wee King, to Elvis, to Johnny Cash, and on and on.  Every band the singer mentions, his band tries to play a few bars that are representative of the music the bands made famous.  Its a fun tribute to the past.

Here's the road Hot Rod Lincoln was written about, still popular with local riders. The lyrics were changed to sell more records in California.
