What to do?
« on: March 29, 2022, 12:01:31 PM »
My 2007 Breva 750 speedo is not working and I have read the few posts in reference to that issue.  In my case the indicator sweeps upon start-up then sits on zero.  I replaced the magnetic pick up which is mounted on the rear wheel and yet nothing happens.  I really don’t want to spend $450+ to buy a new dash.  Unless someone has some other tips on how to troubleshoot this issue I guess I am stuck with a bike that has no speedo.  I figure I have to just live with that but if and when I want to sell or trade in the bike that is going to be a huge issue.  Any suggestions?

Sometimes you can find a used dash on EBay.
Otherwise you can buy a new universal type speedometers on EBay for cheap like this one:

Another alternative is  mount your smartphone on your handlebars and use your GPS for your speedometer.

They had a dash change around then to 09, make sure you get one exactly like you have.  May help to unplug it in the back & clean the pins on both sides of connector. DeOxit or contact cleaner. See if that helps.

A simple bicycle speedo would work and cost less than $50 (guzzi content)
Most of them read into the triple digits and are more accurate than stock speedos if you enter your tire measurement.

I use an app on my phone called "Speedometer."  It is free and doesn't show ads. It shows a lot of other things such as kph, max speed, etc. I use it because some OEM speedos have errors. Also my Audace speedometer was hard to see in certain lighting conditions and vice versa so one or the other would be visible.
