Nackt Norge Erneuert
« on: November 27, 2017, 04:24:42 PM »
Hi all,
I found this on this site:

PO has:
Removed the fairing lower panels
Trimmed the nosepiece of said attaching points
Added 1200 Sport tank panels, painted to match, and added Norge livery
Removed the electric windscreen and controls, replaced with a tinted V11 fixed unit
Removed the rear license plate reflector bracketry
Removed the mainstand
Removed the ABS toggle button, as it was attached to the now removed lower fairing
Reworked the clock mounting to pivot with the bars, OEM is fixed to the fairing
Replaced the battery, unfortunately using a too tall unit

I rode it home, giving me time to decide on what I wanted to do with the custom Guzzi:

I really like the concept, a 1200 Sport with ABS. It just needed a little tuning to better fit my idea.

I had him reinstall the mainstand
I purchased new tires.
Replaced the reflector setup (I am a safety instructor after all):

Added these RAM Mounts in place of the lower bar riser bolts:

I want to try the adjustable screen, V11 unit offered clean air, although for Norge-esque travel, too much of it. Too loud for me.
Removed the nosepiece to replace the windshield assembly:

Reassembled, wired in the buttons to their old home in the bar risers, and tested a Givi screen from the Stelvio:

This week I will remount the ABS button to the fixed dash skirt
That is an odd button. It has a plate to hold the spring, and will need a little engineering to relocate it.
I will also swap the oddsized battery.

A mini rework is all it will take!

Fabbed a section of the oem fairing panel that houses the button, and attached to the clocks bracket:

Attached the OEM screen, and plugged the fixed windshield holes with small automotive pins:

Then installed a new AGM Yuasa to replace the group 14 slosh battery.
This allows the rubber loop and plastic cover to fit.
