Mecum Vegas - Guzzi 750S
« on: January 06, 2019, 09:09:42 PM »
Described as a 1975 750S - looks to be correct and quite nice, from what I have read the one year only 750S was available to European markets in 1974, the 750 S3 was available in 1975.

Also a V7 Sport

Should fetch a good dollar

Plenty of bacon slicer Guzzis, Laverdas and various other Italian exotica

I'll be up there @ MECUM on Fri (1/25) and Sat. (1/26),  :thumb:so I will report what the hammer prices for these two Guzzi's for for...I suspect for these two rare examples, they will be CMV ("Current Market Value) plus! +++

Curious, the cylinder heads on the v7sport appear by the fins around the spark plug to be earlier Ambo pieces. Can anyone comfirm this?
Best,
Peter

I think they you may be right, this is the bike in the Guzzi museum in Mandelo

And these are on my V7 Sport, both of these are correct for the V7 Sport to my knowledge

A few small details on the V7 Sport - the shocks are not correct, the header 'P' brackets are missing, no side stand, the steering damper is chrome (should be black), the side reflectors are missing from the front fender stays. Has competition exhaust rather than the stock shark gill mufflers.

The 750S looks to be mostly correct other than the alternate electric fuel petcock, modified side stand, the 2 up seat rather than the hump back (could have been ordered with a 2 up seat), I think the foot rest brackets should be painted black, and the heads have the 850T style castings of the threaded header flanges, may have been a very late 750S and the 850T style heads were used. It looks like its been standing for a while by the rust on the rotors and the caliper mark on the rotor.

It could have been another case of what was on hand when the engine was assembled. Possibly came from the factory that way.
