Congratulations on the new bike. Your going to love that motor the more you ride it. Lot's of info on this and other forums like Guzzi tech and this one just for the 1400's.  Enjoy! :gotpics:

Anyone else's USB connector on the MGX-21 not work like any other USB port in the world?  When my android phone is connected, it seems to apply power to my phone then remove it about every 5 seconds or so. I-phone doesn't even recognize it.  Haven't been able to use the USB feature on my bike at all.  Trying to get warranty to replace it, but it's been 7 months now and still waiting on part?  Terrible Warranty response time...

The USB port on them is a complete joke. They're only meant to read devices, not power them.  I just use bluetooth on mine, which is flawless.

Ah glad i'm not the only one with that opinion. Agree Bluetooth works great.  Is yours a 2017 or 2018?  My MGX is a 2017 purchased in late 2016.  The local dealer seems to think that the 2018s have fixed this and the USB should act like every other USB in the world.   A new one is supposed to be installed via the warranty soon.   I need it to keep my phone or GPS charged up while I ride for long distances.

USB Problem Update -  I went to the local dealer here in Houston for the replacement USB part/cable warranty work.  The new USB Part fixed the issue.  It now recognizes and charges my Android and i-Phone devices!!!   :boozing:

Yep, had mine since mid August. Approaching 3,000 of the most fun miles I've ever ridden. I feel like I've come to know the bike very well.  Best thing I've done to it thus far is the XL windshield and created some side wings.  Made 150% improvement.

Love that screen.  Is it a MG accessory.

It's a great looking bike.  Might be thinking about one.  Sooooo many questions about the front wheel.  Is it easy to loose the CF insert?  How's it look underneath?  Would I need to paint the wheel?

Really easy to remove. About a 15 minute job, tops.  The look of the wheel is normal, except for the holes that the insert was using to secure itself. I just painted those red to match the calipers, but you could get some plugs for them I'm sure.

From Piaggio? Nooooooo.  You must be mistaken.

The USB thing has been corrected. There's a recall on it. I called my dealer, they put in the recall and mailed me the wire. Total time was about 3 weeks. If you're still waiting, your dealer has dropped the ball. It's a simple plug and play fix that should have been caught at the factory. I have yet to install it though because I don't use USB that much with the convenience of Bluetooth.

Question about these bikes.. how’s the seat height? I’m trying to convince my neighbor to buy one but he’s inseam challenged I bet he’s 5,9 with 27 in inseam.  He’s used to small light bikes.  He’s on a Honda CTx 1300 and is selling it due to weight and not being able to flatfoot it. Thanks

He won't like it.  It's harder to get off the kickstand than Eldo, Custom or Tourer.  Of the four, the Eldo would be the easiest to live with.

Congrats!

I've had my MDX since May, my fourth Moto Guzzi and I'm really liking it.

I've added a bunch of stuff from Issota which is a European supplier. High quality and reasonable prices.

From Issota I've added their engine case guards, oil cooler cover, rear passenger seat pan, and the wind deflectors for the fairing.

I also added a Corbin seat, and the Moto Guzzi accessory windshield.

LED lights are $20 specials from Amazon, and I upgraded the horn to hella got them for $13.

This weekend I added the repainted Norge top case.

Really love the bike overall, though it takes some adjusting to the weight and size when moving around the garage or navigating tight spaces at low speeds. I've also found that raising the front tire pressure to 38 or 39 lbs is very helpful at mitigating the numb feeling at slow speeds.

I'm at 3000 miles now and at the 6000 mile mark will load a beetle map.

I found that turning the handlebars to the right makes it very easy to get off the side stand. It is a beast though, had to up my game at the gym :-)

I rejected the MGX due to the weight. Getting one of the stand was a chore. My Audace is bad enough. It is heavy at slow speeds and the MGX is supposed to be even worse. I also turn my bars to the right to make getting it off the stand easier. The extra lean is good when parking on an off camber surface.

MGX, Custom, Touring, Audace & Eldo 1400 seems to be designed with American sizes/heights in mind.  All the prior bikes seem to be for smaller people.  I ride my SP1000 or California 1100 or V11 Sport and I always wonder about how 6+ footers have to adapt to ride them.

Ha ha, I tend to get on the RK and throw my left leg into the side of it while I heft it up off the sidestand.

It's completely just a habit at this point, no thought whatsoever.

Problem is I sometimes hop off the King and hop onto one of the V7s or the Duc. And habitually do the same thing, which not only lifts the bike off the stand, but then feels like I'm going to fling it onto the floor under me.

I almost did that on a Victory Vegas at Lake George.  I caught it before I almost dropped it.   I rode the Triumph Rocket III prior to that demo ride.     Both bikes had the dealer installed upgrades.

Kev, thats no lie, lol. If I've been on the MGX for a week, the muscle memory when hopping on the Stornello can be a scary experience at first. I'm glad it is so light and easy to recover from almost oops moments. Best part of the MGX is it make my Griso feel like a lightweight..... ;-)

I'm 6ft2in and I seat very comfy on my Cali EV. I also had a V11 Sport Rosso Mandello version for 3 years, but instead of the original handles, she had the Coppa Italia version raised ones, much better for me...

I'll add this in.  Short distances are okay.  Long distances 500+ miles or more a day seems to cramped for me.
