I'm looking for a close match for the dark red/bordeaux paint that some US v 7 sport 's were done in.Anyone painted one recently ?
Thanks !

When I restored a V700, I looked on Greg Bender's site andI told the painter to use Piedmont Red Metallic (Glasurit 912) as recommended. It was not the correct color for the V700 but, it's very close to the Sport color.

This is a 73 original colour, Dave Swanson sent me the colour code when I restored my 73' "1987 GM Medium Garnet Metallic B8713KW Dupont Chroma"

Good information. The owner of the V7 Sport I'm currently restoring wants to switch from black to "burgundy".

Many thanks for the info guys! That looks like the one Canuk but as far as I know we never got that one as an option in Europe which is why all I can find is the lime green...Hopefully the painter can get close with the code you used.Might end up by being "Dark red candy ' but I'm really not fussed about the bike not being dead original....just pretty !

You won't want it truly original, the rel red/burgundy turned sort of pink in a fairly short time.

  Don't want to ride a pink painted bike !
