racing at barber
« on: October 10, 2019, 07:40:32 PM »
for those interested here is video from my 850 lemans at Barber this year. Racing in the middleweight superbike with ahrma. The second half is pretty boring as the first place guy had cleared off and I was riding arround by myself. I got second place so I was happy with that:

Well Done!  Man; that track is sure folded over itself to fit into the space.

Good job! Regardless of placing the experience would be really cool.

Ha ha awesome, thanks for sharing.

What day/what race was that? Sunday?

As a spectator we couldn't find a lot of information about the race schedule. But maybe we didn't try hard enough.

Jeez that’s impressive..
Not only do you ride around a lot of those guys, but you seem to out drag some of those Kawasaki’s and the like.
I will watch all of your stuff. I can’t do it, but I love to watch your exploits. :bike-037:

It's a really fun track.  I did a "Sportbike Track Time" track day there with my Sport 1100, and had a blast!

Hey winged bring it out again! It would be nice to have more guzzis out there. It is a great track and the whole facility and grounds are first class. There were originally three guzzis in heavyweight but one had an incident in practice and the other during the race. I'll post video of that race later.

Nice racing!

What kind of bikes were in this class? I saw this vid, and the 1000 class, and just wondering what bikes there were? Im guessing there is a year cut off, and twins can have a little more CC then the rest.

pushrod twins are allowed 890cc, the fours are allowed 690 so most of the competition is bored yamaha and kawasaki 550 etc. It is an awsome facility.

The one that crashed during practice was the son of the 82 sidecar couple.

He said he lost his front brake as he ended the straightaway and was dropping into turn one at ~140 mph.

He said it had happened before some time back but he'd been able to get it back pumping it up. I get the impression he's gonna be replacing some parts this time.
