Such a good looking bike!! The temptation is too strong!
I wonder if anyone has ever re-routed the oil cooler from down low to up high like other bikes. Seems like a particularly vulnerable position for that piece of machinery.
Yeah, that's my favorite color combination. Must.....keep.....w allet.....closed..
Probably smart. I hear they are high maintenance machines. I'd hate to see you get in over your head with one of those.
You're right Janusz...it's a beauty! I was tempted a while back with another Centauro...but with the recently acquired new Scura in the garage, I'll have to let this one go to someone else! One of the guys here in town with whom we have ridden has this exact bike and it's a beast! Same color combo...seeing it in person is quite stunning.Having fun with the Calvin these days I hope? Hopefully riding season is still in effect!
------- I live near Rosefarm, so Jim Barron would be my guy for maintenance and such.Thanks--------
in that case you should get it! I'm willing to go to GoMoto and get you more pics if needed..
-------That is a beautiful motorcycle and I am very tempted. So.....Please educate me fellas! I've been a long time lurker at this site and admirer of Guzzi's for as long as I can remember. I have never owned a Guzzi, but always wanted one and this is in my price range. Is it worth it?I live near Rosefarm, so Jim Barron would be my guy for maintenance and such.Thanks--------
Jim is very good.. and expensive. Be prepared to pay Ducati maintenance costs if you can't do it yourself. It'll need belts to start with. Maybe a look see at the oil pump, depending on how things feel. Since it is this old, I'd say it wouldn't hurt to service the forks. That involves removing and disassembling them. The Centauro is a very high maintenance bike.. and worth it. That one's a beauty..
---Ok, not being a Guzzi guy, what makes the Centauro more maintenance intensive than, say, the V11 listed above? 8V vs 4V? What else? Thanks.==
Yeah, good point.
I once lusted for one of those.. then Guzzi put a 6 speed in the spine frame.. smooth and silky.. not clunky like the 5 speed..
Marty's shop rates are very reasonable. You might have him check the belts and replace if necessary before delivery. But he may have already done it. Then it should not need service for some time.FYI: the price is cheap for such a nice Centauro. I'd expect to pay $6K for one that nice.Mike
timing belts (2) instead of chain.
