Zeppo, one of us!
« on: November 20, 2017, 07:18:38 PM »
The Marman Twin was a motorcycle produced by Marman Products of Inglewood, California (owned by Herbert "Zeppo" Marx) in 1948 and 1949. The engine was a drone airplane engine from World War II, manufactured by Jack & Heintz Aircraft Co.[1]

This story is worthless without a picture!

Of the Marman, not of Zeppo.

The engine was a drone airplane engine from World War II,
not a Marman drone

But one small part of the history did last: After Navy admirals visited London in 1935 and saw a demonstration of an especially impressive radio-controlled aircraft called the Queen Bee, they started a research program to create their own machines. As a tip of the hat, they called them drones.
