If the roads are dry, I shall be a Man. Well, a bundled-up Man feeling like an idiot the whole way there, asking myself why the hell I'm riding when it's this cold.
If the roads are wet, I shall be Less Than A Man. But I'll be warm.

I was just thinking about you guys today. Went to a Christmas parade here in socal. It's like 60 degrees and people are bundled up like it's Chicago. I even see propane space heaters in front of people. SPACE HEATERS! My wife and I giggled.

I remember those winter ride to the Chicago golf park breakfast and the Dekalb breakfast.
I would stop on the shoulder of the road sometimes and squat with my hands in the exhaust flow
to be sure the fingers would work if I needed them.
The Chicago ride was 100 miles each way, the Dekalb was a bit further.
In Washington state the Krain breakfast was 117 miles each way but it wasn't as cold in winter,
But ooh the black ice and fog made it interesting.
All just for a damn omlette and coffee.  And a chance to see other people as crazy as me.

Roads look clean here in Oswego, maybe a 3/16 of an inch of slush in the few places it hasn't melted, no problem.

It was not what the sound of mind would call proper riding weather, but then again, what have the sound of mind ever got us?

It's always good to spend time with Bob. Went to his house, he had the wood burner cranked up in the shop. New whistles and railroad lights to show off. Plus, I found a few treasures. I even brought my buddy Neal, he's a Guzzi newbie, first time at Bob's. He's jumping in with both feet. He bought that 7200 mile Sport last summer and I'm finishing a ground up restoration on a 73 Eldorado for him.
