Griso hot starting
« on: August 29, 2017, 05:49:09 PM »
I have an odd problem starting my 08 8v when hot - like two or three minutes since running at full normal temperature. I get a compete dash shut down, followed by normal switch-on routine,. During the boot up routine, if I keep the button pressed, it cranks over and starts.

This only happens in the situation described. If it is warm, or stone cold in the mornings, it starts just fine.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. You switch the key on, the dash does its little disco, then when you press the start button, the dash goes blank, then restarts? If you keep your finger on the button, the engine cranks and fires?

Check battery and ground connectors.

Yep. That's exactly right.

What Kiwi Dave said, plus the two startup relays.

Thanks. Will do. I already checked the battery terminals. I'm guessing you mean the battery to ground connection - which I haven't checked.

Yep, you will need to remove the starter motor to get access to the other end.
