Great shots DK. What's the protective wrapping on the Ducati about? Haven't seen that before.

Thanks!

What's the protective wrapping on the Ducati about?

Every bike at Lima will be taped to protect against the super-abrasive material of the track (generally called pea-gravel, although it's not quite that bad). Take a close look at the Harley-Davidson tank.

The Duc is taped with clear over the tank and red tape over the frame.  Additionally, the case is covered with rubber sheet in some places.  It mostly all works pretty well.  Without the tape, you'd be left with bare metal (or worse) after the race.  Perhaps the Indian team can afford to re-paint after the weekend, but no other team is in that position.  Special tape for helicopter blades works good.

You ought to see the riders necks when they come off the track.  Brutal.
