V65 TT for sale on eBay

You don't see these around too often. I've always liked their offroad models and would love to have one for exploring some gravel and B roads in the area.

I don't follow the value of these MG but isn't $4,000 a little on the high side?

At 4 G's they could at least throw on a set of matching hand grips.

The price is right. Look at the VIN, it's #1 of 24 brought in USA. There are no spares for these cause Ace made the 25th one out of the spares brought in. Buy it !!!

Wow, I knew these were rare; I didn't know they were that rare.

The want is very strong with this one.

#1 of 24.  I'm the last person that should own that bike.  When I purchased my SE I knew it was one of 97 depending to you talk to.  Had about 12K miles and I was just going to put it on display.  Right now it has close to 70+ K and while I try to keep it up the mileage shows.  I'd just do the same with that bike.

I saw one at the National last year and it was attracting a lot of attention. Everyone keep saying Guzzi should build a baby (V7 engine) Stelvio when they saw the TT.

So if that is the case, (No spares) how smart is it to buy a bike like this for riding? What does one do if parts are needed?

"What is that"?
"It is a Italian Enigmatic Poly-cylinder dual sport".
"Huh"?
  "A Moto Guzzi Quota".
"What"?

Having owned three very "rare" dual-sport type bikes (Cagiva AR350 1 of 12 imported, MZ Saxon Country 1 of 50, Cagiva Elefant 650 1 of ?), my answer would be: if you want to keep it stock and in good condition, as long as you're just going to ride it on the road, you'll be fine. It might be best to avoid riding it off-road where the chance of a spill taking out some unobtainable bit is very good though. Either that, or resign yourself to substituting "generic" parts for the originals. This from a cosmetic stand-point.

Mechanically, the V65TT is little different than any other small-block of the period.

not sure about the price tag ,
but as a V65TT owner i can remommend them.
amazingly good off road as long as you dont try MX style tracks.
on gravel roads i could easily keep up with my friends with honda transalps and cagiva elefants.
the stock exhaust system should be safe on a shelve at home , it is hopelessly fragile.
but also easy to remove.

if you want serious off road capabilities, get a ktm.
Consider this a scrambler, a light, easy to handle bike you can have lots of fun with.

Go ahead and buy it we have plenty of parts for them. I would think that $4000 is quite reasonable for a bike that rare. Compare to the unrealistic value of a 1000s for $15000. 24 V65TT's brought in to the US at least four that I know of have been totaled and parted out, we have one. So that means that machine is on of 19 running around the country. Sounds like a bargain to me.
More Moto Guzzi parts than anywhere.

I wish. I was reeeeeaaaally biting my fingernails over it, too, but should have just "got off the pot" instead of debating over it. Wonder when the next TT will show up? :-\

I have just joined this group and am glad to see all the V 65 TT interest. I have one of two brought to Canada in 1987 and recently had it restored. It was unreliable with it's points but that was cured with an electronic ignition. The exhaust system strangles the motor and my original dealer always wanted to build something better but I couldn't afford it. It is dead quiet and a great ride on back roads but my problem now is that the only insurance company that will handle it says it was never approved for sale in Canada so they want way to much.
After my first Guzzi experience I swore I would never buy another but a V7 Classic got me back again and I am really happy with it in spite of the lack of power.
Bob.

I bought this bike and really love it! It is a solid runner and only missing a couple of things that Curtis Harper assures me he can source for me. I am taking it to Curtis to have a full service.
Guzzi's in the barn then and ... now:

1986 Guzzi V 65 TT (keeper!)
1985 Guzzi Le Mans IV ( sold after riding 26k miles on it)
1980 Guzzi v50 II (sweet! and sold)
2009 Guzzi Stelvio (Rode it 30k + in 2 years sad but gone)
2000 Guzzi Quota (sold but want another!
