I owned a Breva 1100 for 9 years. I really liked the bike. But...I have some issues with my hips and it got to where I couldn't ride it without pain. So, a couple of years ago, I traded it for an Aprilia Caponord 1200 Rally. It is big, long, heavy, powerful, smooth and most importantly comfortable for me. Today, I took it to a dealership for service, valves, etc. That is an arm and 3 legs by the way...back on topic, they had a 23013 Norge for sale and parked at the the door. Oh yea, gotta sit on that. I threw my leg over and dropped down to the seat. The bike felt so low and light. Oh yea baby, this feels great! Then, I put my feet on the pegs and why I got rid of my Breva immediately came back to me...Maybe in a few years I'll get some new hips and then I can go shopping for another Guzzi. Y'all enjoy them and be safe riding.

Did the hips get fixed? I have had some weird hip socket pain on some bikes before. Only on the motorcycle.

Nah, not yet. I finally learned how to multitask...I screwed up my back also. A few weeks ago one of my doctors went in and killed some nerves in my back to help with some of the pain. That part seems to help my back issues. Now I gotta get some weight off as currently I'm too fat for hip replacement. I've started back on exercising so I should slowly work that bmi down to something they can work with.
Concerning my hip pain, bikes that seem to work for me right now have higher seats and fairly thin fuel tanks between my knees. My Caponord works well for me and my 750 Shiver is okay but not for all day in the saddle.

I came late to the motorcycle life, 54 now 66, one thing I never understood was the "fit" of a motorcycle. I have been an avid road cyclist since my teens. Still ride 200 miles per week, most rides about 3 hours. When you buy a bike you agonize over the fit, proper stem length down the cm, top tube, seat angle, etc. Yet when it comes to a motorcycle you fall in love with a brand, style of riding, engine size, and the fit is well I will try to fix it once I buy it. I completely understand you're selling your Breva for an Aprilia Caponord. A former 6-footer now 5'11 when I test rode one back to back with a 2013 Norge it fit like a glove. The Norge I wanted to love but it felt oddly cramped. Before everyone comments about what can be done to fix it, I think fit could be the most important criteria for selecting a motorcycle. As we age, what is slightly uncomfortable now will only become unrideable in a few years.

I haven't ridden a V85 but I would give one a test ride if the opportunity arises. I have sat on a couple. No offense to y'all but nothing they have in the showroom right now screams "take me home" to me. I am curious to see what will happen with the water cooled Guzzi engines and what bikes they will end up in. Maybe I can end up with another CARC bike in the future. Y'all take care and ride the hell out of your Guzzi's.

You want talk and narrow check out new KLr 650 or better yet the new Aprilia Tuareg 660. I alllmost bought one. Only didn’t because of current state of the economy

In 2016 I had to sell both my Stone Touring "Hydros"; a 2003 and a 2004, both much modified to suit me, because of my age and slight build, 79 years and 134#. Not a day goes by that I don't resent having to sell those lovely bikes, but I simply was at risk. They were too big for me.
I like my 2004 Breva 750 with its OEM 3 shades of silver paint job, but Breva, you ain't no Stone Touring hydro.
One gets old; one has to adapt.

On the Breva/Norge bikes, I have found that lowered pegs are a necessity. A slight build up of the seat, or taller seat is even better. I had Knight Pegs on my Norge, and the 1200 Sport has those switchblade rotating angle type. Bob had the OEM seat re-done by Sargent and is a bit lower than OEM. It is fine for short distances, but punishing for my knees for all day riding. The Corbin is about 1" taller and about perfect.
