Dont decide without a nice long demo ride first.inditx
+1 on this. Traded my Norge for the MGX and regretted it. Tried to convince myself, throw farkles, etc, but it wasn't for me. Sold it 9 months later. If you like awkward low speed handling(-25) and unstable high speed riding (90+) terrible luggage space, rotten FM reception, wonky electronics, yet a butter smooth powerplant it may be for you ;-)
Sorry, the title said "Thoughts?" Those were my thoughts. When a question like that is posed, if all we do is offer praise then the answers do little for the question other than promote what could be a bad decision down the road. Yes, I own a couple Harleys, but if I was crazy enough to ask for thoughts on a Guzzi forum, I think I could predict the answers. To each his own, but my thoughts were: it looks like a batmobile.
I've read that bumping up the tire pressure to 39-41 in the front helps with low speed handling and removing the front wheel cover helps with high speed riding. I don't really care for the lack of luggage space and radio reception. I usually pack light and use bluetooth headphones through my phone during rides.Idk the only thing I think i'm going to have to get used to is the double weight compared to the V7 and increase in power/tq. Thanks for your insight though
I'm not sure that superficial feedback is what he (or anyone else seeking opinions) was shooting for. One's eyes can already judge for themself. What a person doesn't know is how it rides, and any quirks it may have otherwise.
Well, I refuse to get a Harley so... lol
Ok, I give in.As an owner of two V7's and a Road King I bought because I rode the Cali 1400 as soon as it came out and after almost two decades of late-model Guzzi ownership I realized the Harley was "better" for me in so many ways.......I say: FOLLOW YOUR BLISS.you might find you were really wrong. You might find it's perfect for you I hope you don't regret it because you did it JUST to be anti-Harley purchase, as that's dumb.I hope you continue to grow and love the diversity available in motorcycles. But honestly I think you're gonna want another V7, to go with whatever else, because it's a Goldilocks of bikes.
A visual impression is just as valid as a mechanical one. I gave my "thoughts" and they can be ignored or considered in the decision to trade for the MGX. Perhaps the original poster can chime in about his views on the bike's aesthetics. If he still likes it, that's all that matters. But for many, the bike is hard on the eyes.
Definitely classier looking! Be interested to see how much you can talk the dealership down in OTD price. I imagine they're itching to get these 1400s off their property by now.
Also i'm Italian.I was actually looking at a Sport Glide. Nice looking bike, but I can't justify the almost $20k price tag.So, i've actually changed my mind. I cancelled the deal with the MGX and will be pursuing a Black 2020 ElDorado with 19 miles today. It's from the same dealership where I purchased my V7 so I know those guys.
Same! They're listing it for 14,999. Trying to see how much wiggle room is there. It's the same price that was listed for the MGX-21 w/5k miles that I was looking at.The only low blow so far is they are only giving me $4k for the V7 III Special for trade in. The other dealership with the MGX was going to give me $5,800 for the V7.
Ha ha, I guess since I'm half Italian half of my bikes are Italian.... (well, 3/4 of all "our" bikes, but half of "mine")Yeah I dig the Sport Glide.... there's a lot to like there.2020 Eldo - if I was going with a Cali I'm pretty sure that would be it. Awesome.Where in PA? Not talking about the West Chester dealer are you?!?
The market has dropped (again) for the 750cc V7s. Brand new 2020's are selling as low as $6K. IMHO $5800 is a strong trade in value and $4K reasonable. I looked at trading my pristine 2018 V7 III Stone early this year and best I offer I got was $3500. Sold it privately for just under $6K.
Weird question.I've never had a bike with floor boards. Only pegs. For those of you who went through that transition, how was it? Do you find that the floor boards are better/easier?Also, has anyone thrown pegs on a Eldorado? Is it even possible? Kinda counter intuitive I know, but just wanted to ask.-Ricky
