Title: Tire Change Procedure Breva 1100?

Hi,

 I have had my Breva 1100 for less than a year and getting close to tire change time. I have a No Mar tire changer and balancer. I'm looking for any advice, tips and tricks since I have never taken this on a Breva 100 before.

Hey there Mr. King:

   Nice choice of motorcycle.

   I have changed the tires on my B1100, using a HFT tire change rig, with a Mojo bar.

   You have a nicer set up, but it isn't any different than any other tire/ wheel.

   Watch a couple of videos, and you'll be done in no time.

My personal observations:

   Let both the new and old tire sit in the sun for a while to soften them up a bit, or cover with an electric blanket for a while.
   I broke down, and bought some actual, honest to goodness tire lube, last time.  Man what a difference.  I don't remember what it cost, wasn't too much, but now I have enough that my great grand kids will still be using it.... :grin:

Good advice on the real tire lube.i picked up the lube 39 years ago and still have enough for another 10 years.once you use that you will never go back to anything else....

Wasn't there a easy to make "liner-upper"?   I'm thinking there was a way to cut the head off a bolt and use that to line up the stud holes...making it easier to line up and reinstall the wheel.   (easier than holding up the wheel and get the first threaded stud started?)

  Handy if there's no muffler in the way..!

I don't remember that, but it would be helpful.....

Lessee, get a bolt, 2-3" long, cut off the head, presto!

Darn, that is a good idea, next time I have the rear wheel off, to the hardware store I shall go......

I use an 8mm allen screw, one with no head.

Once the wheel is mounted, it can be difficult to remove so the last bolt can be inserted.  This is when the allen key comes out of the toolbox.

F_K001, I changed the tires on my 1200 Sport Saturday. Wheel removal wise, the same as your B1100. Easiest bike I have ever had for wheel removal. Took about 2.5 hours, start to finish. I also have a NoMar.
There is nothing any different about the B1100 wheels vs. any other wheel. Be aware of the spacer in the front wheel. Have soapy water in a spray bottle. The NoMar lube is great stuff, and always keep the opposite side of the tire in the dropcenter of the rim.
I probably spend more time on the static balance than I do on the tire removal\replacement.
