Headlight dimension of California Special / V11 Bassa

Hello all,
I bought a used headlight for a 1998 California Special but unfortunately it seems a little smaller in diameter. I measure it at approx 18cm where the one that was fitted (not original) is a bit over 20cm. Do you know if 18cm is indeed the original headlight diameter and therefore I will need some spacers? (which I don't see in the parts diagram..)

Yes, the Bassa and Special have a significantly larger headlight bucket than early Ev’s.
