My mom's got it, after all of the crap that's she's been through, so I'd say it's a bust.

SHIT SHIT SHIT

The "unspoken" that you decided to speak about anyways?

It's true. I do NOT want controversial healthcare topics, discussing mandates or guilt tripping people into doing things to their bodies they don't believe in being discussed here, period. Same way I don't want porn, nudity, personal attacking, guns, religion or politics discussed here. This is NOT the place for that type of stuff. There's millions of discussion boards out there for those subjects. I'd like to focus on motorcycle related stuff here. Not everyone believes the same way as everyone else. Let's respect both ways. The best way to do that is steer clear of them altogether. It's a tough balance to achieve, but I do my best.

For the record. I am the one that made the decision and implemented the change to censor certain words/topics here to attempt achievement of such topics not being posted.

See the updated rules of the forum. You don't have to agree with them. But, if you want to play in this sandbox, at least play by the rules.

We don't have family over for Thanksgiving- only friends.  There are a lot of family-oriented holidays already, so long, long ago we (my gf at the time, now my wife) decided that we needed a day to celebrate our friendship with others.  We come from academics, which tends to be people that live far away from their family.  Other than that, it's the same routine- I'll smoke a couple of turkeys if I can find rolling paper big enough (ba-dum, ching), and we make a bunch of sides and eat too much and drink almost enough.  Play board games and card games and if the weather is decent, I'll go for a ride.

Well, my mom is doing better and should be off quarantine tomorrow.

My sister texted and we plan to have Thanksgiving at her house.  My sister says she has no recollections telling me otherwise.

( But my wife told me that we're not hosting it at our house after hearing her earlier phone conversation with her. )

I'm looking forward to it since we missed last year.

Well, temperatures are supposed to be in low 20s Monday and Tuesday night so I’ll be going to the cabin Monday to turn water on slow trickle so pipes don’t freeze and then I’ll drain the water system after Thanksgiving for the year.  Having a cabin off the grid is nice but a lot of work!  Happy Thanksgiving wish to you all now as I will be off  the grid from Monday through Friday of this coming week!

Motorcycle related only? Then this subject should be removed. Now I say that in jest. I do think that Luap and the moderators do a great job, and a thankless job. I've never been offended by any posting here but that's me.

As for Thanksgiving, daughters family (including five grandkids) coming in from Delaware for a few days. Will be the traditional fare at our place with me hiding for some quite time.

I apologize for the Thanksgiving topic, as it’s not motorcycle related.  I will not post non motorcycle topics anymore.  Thank You

Bob, don’t worry about this topic as it’s a good topic and thread, same as the other thread we discussed yesterday.
The issues that have been developing is because topics of any nature can be turned into a rogue topic at the will of members who purposely turn it that way. This is what’s going to come to a stop and I think is the point the administration is making.
This topic will stand and I can assure you it will not be ruined by anyone.

Boys, it was a joke. Hence my saying it was in jest. Let's not take ourselves to serious.

My smartass humor isn't everyone's flavor. Sorry.

Cooking starts today.

Vegtable broth for the turkey brine.

20 cups water
Couple of onions
Base and leaves of a celery
Couple sprigs Rosemary/Thyme
Pepper corns and salt
Carrots
Box of mushroom's
Bay leaf or 3
Couple of cloves of garlic

Simmer for a few hours on the Coleman 425E

And of course the main ingredient Yuengling Premium for sippin' on whilst I tend the camp stove.

Looks good!

The 1st smoked turkey is history as of lunchtime today. The last turkey sammich. The family mostly "gobbled it up" Saturday -  Tonight I start the brine for the 2nd bird to cook Thursday :thumb:

She Who Must Be Obeyed booked us into a hotel in Napa for three days of touring the wineries.  It's a daunting prospect, but I suppose some of us must face the challenge...

I rode up to Salt Lake City to visit an old friend.  His wife and family are Ukrainian.  So this is Thanksgiving with a Ukrainian twist
