Lots of nuts have fallen this year, northwest CT. Making the squirrels happy, but sadly, many run over on the roads.
Makes hiking barefoot interesting too.

We had a banner year of acorns falling from the Oaks a couple of years ago, to the point where I was shoveling them away from walkways.  Fun to dance on the giant marbles...!  Yes, lots of road kill this year also.

And I do not hike barefoot, I guess I am a tenderfoot.

I just put new shaker shingles Sidding on the gable ends of my log house, the sawmill cut pine board and batten was starting to look shabby, and the squirrels have already chewed a hole in it beside the chimney 😡

Being in NC, I love New England in the fall. I had planned a trip this fall to make a run up there with my wife to visit some of my buddy pals on the WG forum. I was going to spend a day in southern jersey, my wife was raised In Millville, and see Kev, then head to Portland Maine and see Lucian, then head all the way to Vermont and see JohninVT. However if you want to hear God chuckle just tell him your plans, the hurricane along with a couple other issues put the trip on hold. Anyhow, thanks for the beautiful pictures and please all you guys from up there in Yankee land send more!!

I've always said that falling leaves ( and rakes), were meant to get us in shape for shoveling snow. I take 6 or 7 one ton dump trucks full of oak leaves out of my yard every fall ,an two more every spring that blow in from neighbors yards. Fall is beautiful but a lot of work when it's over for some.  Nice shots Rob! That sidecar rig looks like a blast too. :thumb:

Stunning pics. You're making me homesick. Thanks for sharing.

interesting note about acorns. I thought i'd misremembered previous years, because my place is literally a carpet of the things, and I hadn't recalled that last year (only my second fall in my current home)

Can you can just press the Pause button for a week? We'll be up to Maine next week visiting my newly-transplanted son and It would be nice to see the colors somewhat near their prime. Of course, here in Michigan we have our own display coming right up.

The change is not at peak yet on the coast so depending on where you are going you should see a nice display.

Safe travels,
Rob

Absolutely stunning pictures of the fall colors!!

Every time I see your hack with the passenger seat gone and the trunk moved forward it makes me want to do the same to mine......maybe next spring!
