Fallen Virginia Eagle
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:57:21 AM »
 Guzzisti,
I got the sad news this morning that our fellow Va Guzzi Rider Jim Stogdale passed away Sunday night. Jim's wife Linda told me that he had a good day Sunday, going  out for a ride in the afternoon, grilling burgers after he got home, and passing quietly sitting on his back deck later in the evening.  There was an obit published in the Staunton News Leader Tuesday.
There is a minimal service later today, but Jim requested that his ashes be spread along some of his favorite riding roads. Linda said that a gathering to fulfill Jim's wishes will take place in the spring. I will post it to the group so that any Guzzisti who wish to take part will know in advance.
“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”
Ron

Sad news. Only met him a few times, but enjoyed talking with him.

Hate to see someone go, but when it's time, that sounds like a good way to go.

:1:  Never met the fellow biker but yes, that's the way to go, IMHO.
