I don't believe in using oil. It makes the parts all slippery.

Lubricity, not unlike left-handedness and the benignant nature of Gingers is merely a myth foisted upon us by the vast poltico-industrial complex.
Damn the man.... And his so-called oil to boot!
Otherwise, I'm leaving this unctuous topic alone lest I catch the eye of them.... the listeners. :copcar:

"foisted"?
I'm feeling all violationed and vastly politco'd. But mostly I'm feeling foisted. Unicorn foisted.

I believe you are all suffering "The Forum is Unavailable Testiness Syndrome" and require 2 oz each.

Yeah? Well I'm not done with it!
Marginally apropos of it anyhow.
"In harm's Way" is on and as the little model ships are being maneuvered about I note their attitude stinks - which is to say they aren't heeling over at all away from the turn as tall ships are known to do.
So, I'ma thinking...
Buzzing about in my little Lone Star wouldn't be nearly as fun if it leaned outside the turns as opposed to inside as she's wont to do.
Was up wit dat?
If it's as simple as having a whole lotta "ass" above the waterline... why don't they just tip over.
And don't give me none of that "bilge" about ballast and centers of gravity.
What's the skinny... or scuttlebutt as it were? fairiey dust... unicorn farts... what?
Hey, I got's to know!

Very important to drain oil to 1/8 capacity before which treat engine with Slick50. This is to decrease weight of motorcycle and increase operating temperature which we know increases both speed of motorcycle and lubricity respectively. I read this on the internet, so it is TRUE.

Dusty, I know you brew Aquip 10-80 in Muskogee
Quit holding out on us.

Todd, we all knows that iron don't flote. You can test this by driving your bike across a lake. So's we also knows that an iron ship can't flote either. They get around that by putting all kinda wood inside the hull, on account of we all knows wood floats. So you gots your wood all up in there and that keeps the iron aflote. They hide it so's the eminy gets shocked and awed that we was smart enough to flote a iron boat and then they don't want to mess with us. When they sees a bunch of them floters they uses the plural of flote, which is 'fleet'. As in "fleet of foot" which is a mesuremant of sailers -- you counts them up and divide by too. Then you gots your "fleet weak" which is when the sailers puke on the shore. When that happens you can divide them up any way you want. They only complain when you try for frakshins. They don't like their feets AND their shins messed with in the same weak. And then you gots your fleets 1 - threw - 7 which don't come from sheep fur. I don't know what's up with that.

There was a fella in Texas that built a boat out of concrete , we all told him concrete doesn't float (flote?) . Danged , it did float , someone suggested he used ground up witch as filler in the hull .

I was skeptical of the first concrete/cement boat I saw, too. But it floated. The owner said it was easy to patch, too.

They hijacked another thread, Emma!

Miss Rigg certainly did flote my bote .

Damn near bought a cement (ferro?) boat outa Oceanside harbor. I was making side money scraping hulls when it came up for sale. Initially, I assumed he was "takin' the piss" with me but as he walked me around I saw the soundness of the concept - that, and being shenanigans-based aware of cement barges on the Mississippi as a kid it started to make sense. This fella appreciated the boat in a whole different way than I would have thought. He specifically sought out cement as he fully intended (back in the day) to be grounding it in various places to do stuff in ways but this particularly included Catalina Island when that practice was still legal. He said it was the best material for continued, deliberate grounding.
Seemed to make sense at the time - had lots of old photos of him grounded in shoals, Catalina and Mexico.
Sweet little diesel mini trawler and my intent was to live aboard. Eventually the whole deal got queered when moving it in the future came up. He says, "Boy, you don't wanna be movin' this no place it cain't float to!" so, there ended my dalliance with see-ment boat ownership.
That, and as you noted above - how's I to trust a bote ain't got no wood!?!
Then, speakin' of wood... how about that Emma Peel? And who... who I say was Mr Peel? Lucky bastidge, that.
Todd.

Mrs Peel was described by John Steed as "A widow and talented amateur."

Ahhh.... never got the "widow" comment. Likely I was distracted by cat suits, scenarios of mussed hair and/or projected whiles.
Amateur? not lately!

There is no such thing as a new oil thread. This had the "new" tag on it when I replied but it is not gone. But I stand by my words. The subject title is a contradiction in terms. People have been talking oil since I was a kid and back then every oil company had their own formula and it was oil stupid (not you Dusty  ). I doubt it made any difference in 1955 which oil you used and it sure does not make any difference today when everybody has to meet the same standards. I just never mix weights. All cigarettes give you cancer and all oil threads give indigestion.
Speaking of indigestion why not a emoticon for indigestion? To late now to add one??
BTW Mrs. Peel rocks. Now that is a thread I can look at. I have seen a pic of her in years. I never missed a show all because of her.
-
Well I never ... Oh , never mind
My intent all along was to draw in the Dianna Rigg fans , you are welcome
Dusty
Well in that case we can make this a Diana Rigg and motorcycle thread.
