Guzzi-less
« on: February 04, 2017, 06:07:26 PM »
Uh oh, I am Guzzi less for the first time in 10 years. I lusted after the new Harley Roadster, and acted on it. So I'm the owner of a new Harley. Can I still stay in the club ha ha? Please I'll be good. Promise I won't talk about loud pipes and chaps and leather vests with naked girls patches.

Congrats! In case you didn't know, HD is now making rear sets, clip ons, rear cowls, etc. these are new items for the roadster. I saw the catalogue at the IMS show in Cleveland last week. Enjoy the new ride!

I too bought a new silver and black ABS Roadster. Still have the Norge but it will be on the block in the spring. Kind of in the process of making it mine. Sport windshield, reach seat, rigid side plates, pad, luggage rack, GPS mount, 2 slip over the sissy bar pieces of luggage, european tail light and license plate holder are the things I bought from Harley. Air horn, GPS I've had and got repaired, Fenda Extenda, 1-1/2" stealth risers from DK Customs, and Heat Demons aftermarket stuff. I will have my brother in law fabricate a trailer hitch after the Norge sells so I can tow my Bushtec. I hope this is not viewed as stealing the op's limelight, just joining in... 6 years with my Norge, 37 thousand+ miles. Only regret is not getting the hitch fabricated sooner. Pics when it's done, pretty easy to see them stock.

Congrats on the new ride!

Congrats on the HD.  Will be nice to have so many dealer options.  And you won't need your red suspenders now that you have a belt.

Ha ha, thanks guys. I plan on keeping it pretty near stock, maybe a small fairing and knockoff LED headlight. I'm still a cheapass. I'll post some pics tomorrow or Monday.

Oh my.  What have you done?

You have now joined the unclean mass.  Perhaps it is your destiny?  Enjoy your ride on the dark side, why not?  But, fear not, within a few short years you'll come home.  Until then, we will still break bread brother! :afro:

Bushtec Spartan. It tows great and I still got 10,000 miles out of the last rear tire. No extra wear and tear anywhere. I had another Bushtec in the late 90s and personally would not tow another brand behind a motorcycle.

Yeah unfortunately I sold the Jackal. We moved from our 3 car garage in California to a 1 car here in North Carolina. Just don't have the room.  I still have that sport windshield (you dibs'd it already), some down pipes from an 03 cali that have been welded and fixed, a jackal passenger seat and a cracked hepco Becker rear rack if anyone wants those things. Just pay shipping.

I sat on one at the local Harley dealer, and asked how much fuel it held. He said nobody had ever asked, he didn't know.  Asked another guy.. he didn't know, either.. said, "Maybe 3 gallons?"

I was always anti-Harley until 2007, when I bought a Road King . . . never owned anything so comfortable, or that gave me so much pleasure riding.

That Roadster is beautiful, and I think you're going to have a lot of fun with it. Again, nothing is supported so well in the aftermarket as Harley-Davidson, so any tiny thing that annoys you is easily remedied.

Enjoy!

No, that's the stock 3.3g peanut tank (there's also 2.2g peanut on some models), the larger 4.5g walnut looks like this:
