Found this in my local CL search. No affiliation to seller, but if someone is looking for a very nice low mileage V11 Sport in that crazy lime green color this may be for you.  https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/mcy/d/fairfax-moto-guzzi-v11-sport/6979775083.html

Most of these seem to be pretty rough around the edges by now.  The lime green ones weren't my color, but this one does look like a very clean example.

All things considered, I reckon they are the best looking Guzzi on the road.

Bought one new in 2011. Rode it for about nine years. Loved the bike but had to sell it off due to the riding position. The old bod just couldnt handle it any longer but I do miss it to this day. The price is a bit high even though the mileage is low. $4500 to $5500 would be more like it.

If I did not have a Norge and was looking for a medium distance tourer, I’d go after one.

I had the same issue.. thought I was in pretty good shape for a guy of 60. A personal trainer told me my core strength sucked, and he'd have me back on sport bikes in no time. After nearly killing me  I'm still riding a V11S at 3/4 of a century..

So is it more comfortable than the Centauro was or are you just in better core shape now? :)

They are pretty similar. The AeroLario is a little more "dedicated," but I can ride it all day. What got me to the gym was an ST2 in the late 90s. Come to think of it, I must have been in my mid 50s, then. Just a young whippersnapper.

Aligning to that definition of a "young whippersnapper" in my early 50's...I have to say the Scura (the most good looking of the V11's - statistically and empirically proven) is a very comfortable bike to ride for moderate long distances.  Some on here do use it for long hauls, so if you've got the physical strength and flexibility, you'll really enjoy a V11.  They are addictive in a way that makes you smile, and are truly point and shoot bikes...instant reaction and fantastic turning/revving, not to mention the object of many a question once parked.  It seems that V11's are rare enough to elicit positive comments from every rider...

I will say that the Scura is a nice complement to the Norge...they are quite different in performance terms...but you do need some twisty roads nearby to really appreciate the Scura's forte...it will just lean and lean and take any turn effortlessly...

This. I didn't really learn how to go around a corner until I had the Mighty Scura out in the SoCal canyons for a few years.

Good advice on proper conditioning. But in my case the issues are caused by advancing Osteoarthritis. I have already had to have three joints replaced but at 70 even with the problems starting to affect my back and hips I can still ride by adjusting my ride. Just moved to a V9 Bobber from my Stelvio and with 550 miles on the new bike it looks like I will be on the road for a few more years. Its a win if you can keep on riding by what ever means it takes. :thumb:

Looking at them, you just “know” how good they would be to ride..
If I was assured by someone I trust that the one I wanted was mechanically good, I’d buy one without having ever sat on one..

At that milage the bike isn't even run in. :thumb:

My first Guzzi was a high milage VII Sport, I loved that machine and swore I would never sell it but finally realized the riding position was too much and traded it in on a Griso.

I always liked them going back to when they first came out.  I was riding Ducatis at the time, and Guzzis just seemed a bit too 'weird' for me.  Fast forward 20 years and I'm at the dealer a while back looking at a used, beat up lime green 2000 V11...then a guy says to me " what are you looking at that for? I got a clean one that I'm looking to sell."  Turns out he's an older, local collector with a bunch of bikes.  His is a black version, but I can't confirm the year.  Did they make the black ones for only a couple of years?  I got out of there quick before I did something stupid...

Surfing V11Lemans, and I know they have a few issues like speedos, electrics (relays), shifter spring.  None of that scares me too much as they seem easily sorted.  Which models had the flaking engine paint?  2002?  Is it best to steer clear of that year?  Which year is best?

Now I can track him down if I really needed to....price is reasonable.  I just want to be able to ride it all day without worrying about getting stranded.  I guess I should be ok if I address all the normal stuff people report?

The black one is a red (short) frame 2000/2001 (I think) The white faced Veglias on it are considerably more reliable than the ITIs that came on 03s onward. Caig DeOxit will fix the electrics. We fixed the transmission spring problem a couple of years ago. 2002s had the flaking engine paint.
Best is subjective, but the 03s on are better sorted from the factory.

You sure can. Everything you need to know is on the V11Lemans forum. Docc has well over 100000 on his. Getcha some Omron relays, getcha a Roper plate (another collaboration on the V11 forum) check for transmission case cracks at the rear mounting points on the model, and ride it anywhere.

The guy working on Luap's bike made a few transmission brackets for red frames.  You can contact him.

My bike was guinea pig.  I probably paid for much of it.  And he's still got my red paint.
