Points. Don't mind carbs, but I always felt like setting points was something regularly needed at always the worst time. Love me my electronic ignitions!
'60-'61 Plymouth had push button transmission, I suspect they were pneumatic. I do not miss tube type radio or vacuum windshield wipers.
Vacuum wipers.
Nothing like trying to pass someone on a 2 lane highway at night in the rain and pushing the peddle to floor and watch those wipers slow to a crawl.
I don't miss taking drug tests,er. .
Ha I have a new drug test I have to take for my doctor who gives me narcotics. I have to pee in a cup to prove that I actually take the narcs and not sell them on the street. The Feds will check my results and my doc is off the hook if the narcs are in my pee. How about them apples. They got you both ways now. Legal or illegal you gotta pee in the cup.
Jim saidThose of you who don't like kickstarters, think about that next time your battery won't crank the engine. My first choice would be to have electric start, and also a kick starter, like many bikes from decades ago were equipped. :1: on that.Harry
Pretty sure the Chrysler push button titans controls had cables attached to the buttons. Welcome to be corrected by anyone that's worked on em[/quoteYep, those push button T/flites were cable operated.+1 on the vacuum wipers though, they were damn near useless.
In 20 odd years of riding I can count those occasions on one hand. You can bump start an 1100 sport on flat ground buy yourself if you have some idea what you are doing.
Disco! The 80s was a long decade in the wrong way music wise.GliderJohn
I must have been born in the wrong decade, most of the stuff y'all don't like/won't miss are things that I like and use. Don't have a cellphone - only landlines. Wish my Mercedes and van had wing windows. Still play cassettes in the Alpine stereo in the Mercedes. Like having a kickstarter on smaller displacement engines like my Morini, Rotax and XT500, not sure I want one on larger engines though. Still have (halogen) sealed beams in the 'Benz. All of my Guzzis have points and carbs. The 'Benz has an engine driven cooling fan and has never even gotten close to overheating, but the VW with electric fans has. <shrug>
pneumatic actuated push button controls on the dash.
The old oil can spout/cutter.....messy! picture upload
