Jason - that's some excellent data. Oughta keep me busy for a while.

Laverdas are a whole new universe for me, but kinda full circle since I started out with Hondas (and working on them) back in the 60s.

A friend of mine knew the owner, and knew he rode the bike now and then, but hasn't a clue what the break-downs were. I was thinking the same thing - electrical. I'm used to sorting out older bikes, and think this one could be fun. It already looks really nice. I saw the speedometer in the garage (only the tach is mounted on the bike) but neglected to check mileage since I thought my friend was interested in it. I'll be going back for another look.

What's the consensus on two into one exhausts? Do they work well on the SF2? Like wire wheels, I'm partial to upswept dual cans, but if these bikes run well with the two into one, I'm fine with that.

It sounds like I can't go too wrong getting it for five grand.

Five grand - bargain.

At that price, you can put a 2-2 system on it if that is your preference. Happy times.

Cheers
Jason

5K i would not bat an eye
they are great bikes
I have no comparison as my SF2 came with a Ricky Racer two into one. The sound was beautiful, when you got on it .

$5K is a deal, Wolfgang can supply you a new stainless steel rerpro exhaust.

I put in a programable DMC electronic ignition from Wolfgang, simple to install.

The SF series are going up in value, hard to find as decent one so if interests you I recommend grabbing it.

It's that bad? Ok - you talked me into it. I'll take the leap - got a message in to see it again.

Laverdas are becoming more desirable for sure

A mate of mine just got rid of his Jota, it was reasonable but a long long way from pristine and he got 10k GBP probably 13-14k US and you're having to think about an SFC rep for 5??

You gotta be kidding me

John

Thanks for making me feel good, John.

You've gotta realize I'm a total noob when it comes to Laverdas. And this bike doesn't exactly come with any provenance either. But I am beginning to see this is a no-brainer and am taking steps to rectify that. As usual, it's also not the best time for something like this but I can pull it off - if you don't have to stretch/sacrifice it's not valuable, right?
