helmet lock with Retractable Cable

What I am looking for is a way to lock a helmet to my bike, but not have to carry a cable with me or have a ugly bike lock mounted on my bike.

this lock, if it were somehow able to be mounted on my bike would be perfect. I am not looking to keep my helmet safe professional thieves, just eliminate an opportunity theft when stopping for a quick bite to eat.

My bike is bare - and I want to keep it that way. but I could mount something decretely to the back of the plate under my seat.

So if you carry a cable or a cable in a case...isn't t still a cable?

Carry a short cable and small pad lock in you pocket and you're all set. Or buy an I have lice sticker and slap it on your helmet. Nobody will bother it

Couldn't you make a simple metal strap, with holes at either end, and use that to attach the lock you showed to the bottom of your seat? Might be an elegant solution on such a stripped down bike.

I would just wrap it around the frame when using it and then put in a jacket pocket.
