Moto Guzzi V8, dressed in red…
« on: October 08, 2022, 08:39:34 PM »
In the July 1981 issue of Classic Bike magazine, there’s an article about the motorcycle half of the May 1981 John Surtees Days at Brands Hatch.  The author spends a lot of ink celebrating the Moto Guzzi V8 as ridden by Bill Lomas in its first such outing in 24 years.  The suitable-for-posting full page picture shows Lomas on the V8, which has the dustbin fairing painted in red (instead of green) purportedly related to recent display in the USA.

Does anyone here know about the American venue, promoter or ?? that did this circa late 1980-early 1981?  Maybe there’s even pics of it here in the states, painted red.  I’ve found one image online of the bike with red fairing on this website
https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Racers/moto_guzzi_v8.htm,  but with no related information about the circumstances-

It’s an obscure trivia thing, but would be good info to have posted here on WG if its not already here where I have yet to find it.
