Title: Vintage Falcone SouthEast Tour
Post by: pehayes on November 30, 2022, 04:50:02 PM
ATTN:  SouthEast Guzzisti

I belong to a Guzzi Falcone Club from Italy.  We organize a major tour somewhere every year (until -).  I have posted pictures and reports from many of our past tours to this forum.  You can always find our tour history here:  http://motohayes.com/mgc/main.html

The Club is interested in organizing a SouthEast USA Tour for late spring 2023 or 2024.  The difficult part of our plan is to find a shipping warehouse that can receive a container full of motorcycles from Italy, unload it by forklift and elevated dock, and store our individual crates while we tour for about two weeks.  The Club members are assigned to unload the motorcycles from their individual crates and prep them for operation.  After the tour Club members will re-crate each motorcycle so that they can be reloaded into a container and shipped back to Italy.  It is helpful to have such warehouse nearby to a major shipping port of entry to minimize trucking cost.  It is helpful for the warehouse to have import/export contacts with local firms.  It is helpful to our Club if we can find such warehouse support with minimal financial impact.  We could ship into any port from Washington DC to New Orleans.  We typically do about 200 miles per day with visits to museums and historical sites.  When, where, and how far we tour and what special sites we might visit will depend first on finding an efficient and cheap import/export facility.

I have personally provided the regional knowledge and local support for this Club on SouthWest and California tours.  I'm a bit out of my lane in planning for the SouthEast.  I've tried a few personal contacts but not getting anywhere a yet.  If you have any friend, relative, or business contact that might have such warehouse facilities and might be willing to provide friendly support to our club, please contact me by PM.  Please share our tour website to anyone who might be interested.

Western North Carolina would be a must IMHO.

Well, I have not been to our latest dealer but he has 2 locations, Savanna(port city) and Douglasville(west of ATL by AL).
You might want to contact them for help, you never know. The shop over here is a MotoPlex shop, one in Savanna I have no info.

Good Luck.
