I can afford a new bike, I am just not excited about a new bike with all the electronic things to go wrong and no dealership nearby.
I love my Norge but less and less want working on it sitting on the ground. Hmmm There might be a V85TT travel in my future if they change from that gold colour.  LOL!

    Zepalume........... .... Section 3. Composition/Information on Ingredients
 SULFURIC ACID; oil of vitriol
HYDROFLUORIC ACID ; hydrogen fluoride; hydrofluoride
 PHOSPHORIC ACID
ETHYLENE GLYCOL MONOBUTYL ETHER;   2-butoxyethanol; butyl cellosolve

FWIW: You could go with a bolt (a standard bolt 13mm head will work) at least 5mm or maybe even 10mm longer than the threaded hole. There is clearance between the fully seated bolt with either washer and the gears on the 5 speeds.

Colas have phosphoric acid as well. I know some have used it as a rust remover. Eagle One would work in about 30 seconds. Spray on, wash off with lots of water.

Looks like Eagle One Etching Mag Wheel cleaner is basically phosphoric acid with a splash of sulfuric. Milk stone remover is phosphoric acid so you might have similar results with it. And probably a lot cheaper.

What a PITA trying to get in there to slather with some penetrating oil operating from the ground.  Hoping to buy a used air hydraulic table soon!!   ** Cutting the lowers off permanently up to the blinker assembly to see the engine and ability to reach stuff is mighty tempting in days like this!!
