Title: tube to tubeless conversion issue

Im gearing up to try a tubeless conversion on my Convert  and in my searching I see some of you have already been down this path however all the YouTube videos show every one installing the valve stem after the sealant and tape has been applied, I cant see a problem if the valve was installed to the rim first and then sealant and tape over the top with an inflation hole cut in the tape or am I missing something Thanks Ray

Do not use tape.

Use 3m marine sealant. 3 step process.  Put a NAPA valve stem in after sealant has cured.

When I did my 72 Eldorado 5 years ago I tried a bunch of different Silicons most ended up squeezed out of the spoke nipples like mini volcanos, I finally ended with GE 100% silicone in the small squeeze tube, (enough for 2 wheels). An automotive glazier friend put me off silicon, he reckons its corrosive, especially the ones that smell like vinegar.
For my V7III I was unable to find the 3M product in Vancouver, I used a different Marine sealant Sikaflex 291, I will use this going forward.
I put the valve in first applied the Sikaflex over the top, left it overnight then applied a layer of Crystal Clear Gorilla tape to protect the Sikaflex from the tire while I am spooning it on.

The NAPPA valve is that the pull in rubber type as used on most cars?

Thanks guys, I have been experimenting with  the sikaflex 291 the 3m5200 and one called fixtech190 marine they are all acid free on scrap aluminum and they are all showing good signs of adhesion . The sikaflex is showing very positive results so far but I want to install the 8mm valve with 2 seals to the rim first and then work around it with the rest of the process  but It doesn't seem to be the preferred way and  I cant see why. Ill see what others chime in with . Sometimes I just go with my gut feeling but will see what others say.

I have put 4 valves in first with no issues.
WIW, I had trouble with the 5200 getting clipped by the front tire when mounting. I'd do it Roys way.

  Curious- why no tape? I used the gell tape on my Jackal and with many thousand miles and several years of hot weather riding there were no problems of any kind.

I have done 3 bikes using the 3M 5200, and Permatex  grey silicone gasket maker, both worked well, but the 3m marine product was more tenacious adhesion wise, though it took a long time to cure. I have bought some of the 3M gel sealing tape but have not tried it yet. I think if I were to do it again, I would use the 3M  marine caulk in the spoke nipples, then put a layer of the tape on top.
  I have always installed my valve stems first, but I dont think it really matters much.

I've used OUTEX system in two bikes. A V7ii and a BMW R90. Three years and two tyre changes with no issues. Easy to install. Followed the instructions, watched a coupe of youtube vids and made extra sure the rims were very clean.

8-10 years ago, I converted my two California Stone Touring models to tubeless.  For sealant, I used Shoe-Goo, about $7 a good size tube.  I had to sell  them in 2016, but they never leaked.  I'm soon to do my 2021 Royal Enfield 650.  Shoe Goo again.  Thank Heaven the Breva 750 has tubless wheels, tho I do miss spoked wheels.

Finished the rear convert wheel and no leaks yet but will wait till a road test before I celebrate but were having severe rain and terrible weather at the moment so will be another few days to wait. I used Sikaflex 291 and 3m tape and secured the valve to the rim before applying the tape .Ray
