Pc 680 or????
« on: September 26, 2021, 03:17:47 PM »
My Norge needs a new battery. I have had good luck with Odyssey batteries in the past and have no reason to change. However I  am willing to change if someone has a compelling argument for another choice. I have a good local source and looks like they have the PC680 for $137 plus tax. Any argument for or against? Or another choice?

Same battery over here is over 200 AUD......
Just by it, the bike needs it to go VROOM.

I've had excellent results with the PC680 for many years in my BMWs. Right now, the one in my K75RT is the same that I installed in November 2007 (not 2017!). Rode it yesterday and it still started quite smartly. I've had the PC680 in a couple of other bikes that it happened to fit and experienced very long life as well. So unless they've cheapened the battery (or you are very unlucky), I'd say to stick with a winner.

The Odyssey is a good battery, though getting pricey. Hard to go wrong with the brand.

For my R75/5 that uses the 680, I decided to TRY the Mighty Max brand available on Amazon for less than half the price of an Odyssey. It's only been a few months, but so far so good. My EVT needed a new battery and I bought the 20 size Mighty Max. Again, not enough time to say how it holds up.
