Saw just a bit ago on the news where even sharks were washed up on shore and stranded. Keep your heads down and good luck.

Well its only just stopped raining here. Its been pretty constant for the last few days.

We are located  a bit south of the landfall (dangerous semi circle) but the eye went inland a bit so we missed that. Haven't lost power, unlike many, but lots of flooding in the vicinity with lots of road closures. I haven't heard of any loss of life.

The bikes are all above water and I've gone into hermit mode until the roads improve and the worst of the pot holes are patched.

Humidity is at 100% and I've turned into a walking fungus farm. Situation returning to normal.

Just Skyped the Bro-in-law who lives on the western side of Brisbane. Although the Brisbane river loops around his place they are about 100 metres above it.  He is happy at this point as his 13 tanks were basically dry from no rain and now they are full.  He seems pretty relaxed,  at this stage anyway.

Hi all,
Thanks for your good thoughts, we are all ok here in Gladstone. It seems the bulk of the cyclone missed us as we only received around 2" of rain and the wind was nothing like it was 100 km's to the north of us where it crossed the coast. It dumped the majority of the rain to the west of us .
I was out on a field trip for work about 400 miles to the west when it hit, so my wife and daughter were alone the do the preparation work, tidying the house yard etc.   Jan went in to work just before it hit and helped the boys secure the hangar with Ratchet straps across the big roller door and parked the forklift up against the bottom of the bi- fold front door to stop them getting pushed in.
It went past gladstone around 9 or 10 am, this pic is of a little town called Jambin, 120 km's to the west of the mountain ranges from us. Jambin was evacuated before the flood hit. I went past 24 hrs later on the way home at 7000 ft, cloud base 2000, hills are around 2500 ft. A few Helicopters were plucking people out of the flooded areas so best to stay the hell out of their way.
We lost a few Green Palm fronds from the trees out front, and that was about it ! At least I came home to a clean house yard  :D
PS : all the brown in the pic is flood water.

Just heard from one of the R22 pilots, he lives near the flooded area, they received 9 inches of rain in 3 Hrs.
